TRANSPORTATION EQUIPMENT

We need to acquire a truck and horse trailer to carry two to four horses. A fifth wheel setup is best for 3+ horse trailers so we are looking for a 3/4 or 1 ton pickup whic can pull these trailers.

VETERINARY SUPPORT

This year we are operating under a start-up budget and would like to work with two to three veteranarians initially on a pro-bono basis while establishing ourselves. If you are a veterenarian, or you know someone who is, we would love to talk.

FEED STOCKS

We are seeking hay and grain donations. If you have either, please contact us. We would love to talk to you!

HORSE TRAINERS

Safety is paramount to all of our programs and we strive to have stability between our horses and our clients. Constant training of our animals is necessary to ensure the client's safety at all times. If you are an experienced horse trainer, please contact us!

VOLUNTEERS

These positions involve working with horses and clients in an indoor arena setting. Volunteers will work with clients familiarizing them with horses, basic riding skills, animal care and nutrition, grooming and English and western riding disciplines. We also use bareback riding, games, trail rides, and exercises to provide fun and challenging sessions to meet each rider's individual needs.

Horse Leader. The leader is in charge of guiding the horse around the ring. In the case of adept clients, the leader walks beside the head of the horse as a safety precaution but allows the client to perform all the steering of the horse.

Side walker. There are usually two side walkers. They walk beside the hip of the client and assist in the lesson. This may involve verbal repetition of the instructor's direction, physical assistance to carry out the instructor's direction, physical assistance to maintain the client's balance in the saddle, etc. Side walkers are also trained on how to perform an emergency dismount if any problems occur during the lesson.

Safety Equipment

We have a need for riding helmets throughout the size range from toddler to adult. Please note that our insurers will only allow us to use helment that have an ASTM-SEI and be in good condition. If you have any unused helmets or come across any that are in good condition (often seen at garage sales) we would love to have them!
